Tyler Perry is giving fans another reason to keep an eye on his growing Netflix slate.
The filmmaker has officially announced Tyler Perry’s Confabulation, an upcoming thriller starring Lucien Laviscount, Taylour Paige and Shamier Anderson. Perry wrote and directed the film and is producing alongside Angi Bones and Tony L. Strickland.
Perry appears especially excited about this particular project. After news of the movie broke, he shared the announcement on social media with a message to his followers:
“WHEN I TELL YOU!! THIS ONE RIGHT HERE!! Y’all ain’t ready!! I’m in my bag!!!”
While Perry hasn’t publicly declared Confabulation to be his definitive “best” film, his enthusiastic reaction certainly suggests that he has a lot of confidence in the project.

The movie centers on a troubled firefighter who is reunited with his first love, Bridgette, during a rescue mission. He becomes determined to save her from her powerful husband and potentially rekindle the life they once imagined together.
However, there’s a major problem: his memories and reality aren’t lining up.
As he investigates Bridgette’s marriage, his fractured memories begin colliding with the present, eventually forcing him to question whether the rescue mission he’s risking everything for is actually what he believes it is.
That setup puts Confabulation firmly in thriller territory while also incorporating drama and romance.
