The Challenge star Davis Mallory is opening up about his personal and spiritual journey nearly one year after revealing that he no longer identifies as gay.
Mallory, 43, recently introduced his new girlfriend, Rachel Vaughan, on Instagram, sharing a photo of the couple together.
“It’s crazy what love can do,” Davis wrote. “I love you.”
The reality TV personality later reflected on his journey in a September 2025 Instagram video, where he spoke about leaving what he described as a “gay lifestyle” after approximately 20 years.
“I lived a gay lifestyle for about 20 years,” Davis said while speaking at the Arise House of Prayer and Worship in Hawaii. “God really pulled me out of that lifestyle a year ago.”
Mallory publicly came out as gay when he appeared on The Real World: Denver, which aired in 2007. He later competed on several seasons of The Challenge, including The Inferno 3, The Duel II, and Rivals.
During his speech, Mallory said he believes God began communicating with him through dreams and showing him what he described as spiritual warfare.
“Praise God, honestly. He started speaking to me in my dreams and showing me the spiritual warfare that I was going through,” he said.
Mallory also described having nightmares whenever he said he returned to “sin,” including dreams involving his car being broken into and losing control of the vehicle.
“Every time I returned to sin, I would have a nightmare,” he continued. “So He was just showing me these really strong visual dreams, these images of what sin was doing in my life.”
Now, nearly a year after sharing his decision to leave behind his previous lifestyle, Mallory appears to be embracing a new chapter in his life—and his relationship with Vaughan.
His comments have sparked conversation among fans, with many reacting to his candid discussion about faith, sexuality, and his personal journey.
