A conversation surrounding social media blocking recently took center stage during an interview featuring Peg and Terri, as Kathy questioned why she had been blocked despite Terri and Kathy maintaining a friendship on Facebook.
Kathy addressed the situation directly, explaining that she had been blocked by Peg for months and wanted to understand the reasoning behind it. She also pointed out that Susan had not been blocked, which left her wondering why she specifically had been excluded.
Peg explained that the decision was not meant to be personal. Instead, she said she has been focused on protecting her peace and keeping negativity out of her life.
Peg, who previously worked as a firefighter, reflected on the trauma she witnessed throughout her career and explained that retirement has given her a stronger desire to maintain a peaceful environment around herself. She also noted that she was entering a new relationship with Mel and wanted to keep that part of her life separate from outside negativity.
Peg Says It Was About Protecting Her Peace
Peg emphasized that she has the right to decide who she allows into her personal life and onto her social media platforms.
She explained that she keeps her private life intentionally separate and chooses who she allows into her home and onto her platforms. According to Peg, the decision was about maintaining boundaries rather than targeting anyone personally.
Terri offered additional context, suggesting that Peg’s blocking may have initially been more of a “blanket” decision following the negativity surrounding the situation.
Terri explained that Peg may have blocked several people at the time rather than making individual decisions about each person. She added that Peg eventually unblocked people after things settled down.

The conversation ultimately highlighted the complicated boundaries that can come with friendships, relationships and social media—especially when personal situations become public.
What do you think about Peg’s decision to protect her peace and control who has access to her personal life?
