Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is using her own cancer journey to encourage women to stay on top of their health screenings.
The Jersey Shore star recently revealed that she is cancer-free after undergoing a series of procedures following her stage 1 cervical cancer diagnosis earlier this year. Her treatment included a colposcopy, conization and a hysterectomy.
Sharing a celebratory video on Instagram, Snooki wrote, “After a colposcopy, conization & hysterectomy, mawma is cancer free.”
She also thanked the doctors who helped her throughout the process and revealed that she will continue having Pap smears every three months to monitor her health.
“GET UR PAP SMEARS LADIES! & stay on top of those appointments!” she wrote.
Snooki was diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer after previously dealing with abnormal Pap smear results. She has been open about initially putting off screenings because of fear and discomfort, but ultimately getting checked led to her diagnosis being caught at an early stage.
She underwent a hysterectomy in July, with doctors removing her uterus and cervix while preserving her ovaries. She has also spoken openly about the difficult recovery process.
Now, Snooki is turning her experience into a message for other women: don’t skip your appointments.
Her latest update has received significant support from fans and fellow Jersey Shore cast members as she continues her recovery and follow-up care.
