Netflix is bringing a powerful new faith-driven drama to the screen this December.

The streaming giant has announced December 16 as the premiere date for Give Me Some Sugah, a new film directed by Tasha Smith and starring Taraji P. Henson. The movie was previously known as ’Tis So Sweet.

The story follows Lenore Lindsey, a Chicago bakery owner whose life takes an unexpected turn after a stunning discovery. The revelation forces Lenore to confront parts of her past, reclaim lost time, heal old wounds and rediscover her purpose.

The film is inspired by the real-life journey of a Chicago bakery owner, bringing a story of faith, healing and second chances to audiences.

Star-Studded Cast

Henson is joined by an impressive ensemble that includes Joey Bada$$, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Russell Hornsby, Alexis Louder and DeVon Franklin.

Smith is also appearing in the movie in addition to directing it.

The project is produced by Tyler Perry and DeVon Franklin, marking another collaboration between the two following Ruth & Boaz, which previously debuted at No. 2 on Netflix’s Global Top 10.

The film is already generating excitement among fans, particularly with the combination of Henson, Smith, Ellis-Taylor, Hornsby, Franklin and the rest of the talented cast.

With its themes of family, faith, healing and finding purpose after life-changing circumstances, Give Me Some Sugah could be one of Netflix’s notable December releases.
