Jersey Shore Reboot Rumors: Could E! Bring Back the Original Cast?

Jersey Shore cast reunion and reboot rumors

Could the Jersey Shore family be getting another chance to GTL?

With Jersey Shore: Family Vacation coming to an end, rumors are swirling that the franchise could continue on another network. According to online chatter, E! is interested in picking up a new Jersey Shore reboot, potentially bringing back several familiar faces while leaving two major cast members out.

The biggest alleged absences are DJ Pauly D and Vinny Guadagnino.

Nothing has been officially announced by E!, MTV or the cast regarding the reported reboot, so fans should take the casting rumors with a grain of salt. However, the idea of another Jersey Shore series isn’t completely out of left field.

Could the Jersey Shore crew really return?

The timing certainly makes sense.

Jersey Shore: Family Vacation is currently airing its farewell season after MTV announced that the series would conclude with 18 final episodes. The network described the season as the culmination of a franchise that has entertained viewers since the original Jersey Shore premiered in 2009. (Paramount Press Express)

But ending Family Vacation doesn’t necessarily mean the Shore family is finished.

Recent reports have indicated that some members of the cast are interested in continuing the franchise in some form, potentially through another platform or spinoff. (Decider)

That is where the alleged E! reboot comes into play.

Who could return?

The reported concept would allegedly feature several of the familiar faces fans have followed for years, potentially giving viewers another opportunity to see Snooki, JWoww, Mike “The Situation,” Deena, Angelina, Sammi and Ronnie together.

The idea would also allow the cast to continue telling stories about their lives now that they’ve grown up, gotten married, had children and built careers outside of reality television.

That could give the potential reboot a different feel from the original Jersey Shore.

Instead of watching a group of young roommates party every night, viewers could be watching the cast navigate friendships, families, relationships and the drama that comes with growing older together.

But where are Pauly D and Vinny?

That’s the part of the rumor that has fans talking.

According to the alleged casting chatter, Pauly D and Vinny would not be part of the potential reboot.

Neither absence has been officially confirmed, however.

Pauly D in particular remains extremely busy with his DJ career. He is currently touring across North America through October 2026, meaning his schedule could make committing to another full-time reality series more complicated. (New York Post)

Vinny has also developed projects outside of Jersey Shore, making his potential participation another question mark.

If the two really aren’t involved, the dynamic would obviously be very different.

Pauly and Vinny have been central parts of the franchise since the original series, and their friendship has produced some of the show’s funniest moments.

Fans have seen this before

This wouldn’t be the first time the franchise has attempted to move in a different direction.

MTV previously announced Jersey Shore 2.0, which was supposed to introduce a completely new cast. The original cast publicly pushed back against the project, and production was eventually paused. (TheWrap)

A reboot featuring the original stars—or at least most of them—would be a very different proposition.

And considering how recognizable the cast remains, it could potentially be a much safer bet than starting over with an entirely new group.

For now, however, fans will have to wait for something official.

E! has not publicly confirmed that it is picking up a Jersey Shore reboot, and there has been no official confirmation that Pauly D or Vinny would sit out.

Still, the rumors are enough to get Shore fans talking.

After nearly two decades of GTL, fights, hookups, weddings, babies and family vacations, it may be difficult to keep this group away from television for too long.
