NBC has released the official trailer for The Traitors: New Blood, giving fans their first look at the upcoming all-civilian edition of the hit reality competition series.
Hosted by Alan Cumming, The Traitors: New Blood will bring 22 everyday Americans into the infamous castle in the Scottish Highlands. Unlike the previous U.S. seasons, which featured reality television stars and celebrities, this new installment is made up entirely of civilian contestants.

The trailer immediately sets the tone for a season filled with deception, manipulation and backstabbing. Cumming welcomes the new players to his castle while making it clear that being an ordinary person does not mean playing an ordinary game.
The contestants will compete in missions to build a prize fund worth up to $250,000. Hidden among the Faithful will be the Traitors, who must secretly eliminate contestants while avoiding suspicion. Meanwhile, the Faithful will attempt to identify and banish the Traitors before it’s too late.
The new cast includes contestants from a wide range of professions and backgrounds, including a lawyer, pastor, retired firefighter, former professional baseball player, astrophysicist, funeral director and more.
The cast was selected from a massive nationwide search, with more than 80,000 people reportedly applying for the opportunity to enter the castle. Contestants range in age from their 20s to their 60s, bringing a completely different dynamic to the franchise.
The trailer also highlights just how quickly the new players appear ready to embrace the game’s deceptive nature. Several contestants express interest in becoming Traitors, suggesting that the civilian cast may be just as ruthless as the reality stars who competed in previous seasons.
The format remains familiar. If the Faithful successfully banish every Traitor, they will split the prize money. But if even one Traitor makes it to the end, the Traitors take the entire prize.
Alan Cumming returns as host and executive producer, continuing his role as the flamboyant mastermind behind the castle’s deadly game.

The Traitors: New Blood premieres Thursday, September 17, 2026, on NBC with a special two-hour premiere from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET/PT. Two additional episodes will air back-to-back on September 24, followed by weekly Thursday episodes. New episodes will also stream on Peacock the following day. (Just Jared)
The civilian edition arrives as The Traitors continues to grow into one of television’s biggest reality competition franchises. The first four U.S. seasons featured well-known reality stars, but New Blood gives the format a major shake-up by putting ordinary players at the center of the game.

With everyone entering the castle without established reality-TV reputations or existing relationships, the new season could make it even harder for viewers—and the contestants themselves—to figure out who can actually be trusted.
And judging by the first trailer, the new Faithfuls may have plenty of reasons to be suspicious.
