
Fans of Average Joe won’t have to wait much longer. Paramount+ has officially announced that the hit action-comedy thriller returns for Season 2 on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, kicking off with a two-episode premiere before releasing new episodes every Wednesday. The second season will consist of eight episodes.
Joe Washington’s Next Chapter Heads to South Africa
After surviving the dangerous events of Season 1, Joe Washington (Deon Cole) is hoping for a fresh start. Instead, a mysterious new threat targeting his family forces Joe and his crew to leave Pittsburgh behind for Cape Town, South Africa.

What begins as a search for answers quickly becomes an international fight for survival as the group faces ruthless criminals, deadly assassins, bounty hunters, and long-buried family secrets. Paramount+ teases that Joe and his friends will find themselves in increasingly impossible situations while trying to stay alive.
