BET’s “Sistas” & “Zatima” Star Crystal Renee Hayslett is making big moves in the acting world and the business world as she’s setting up her future and increasing her net worth!
In a recent interview, Crystal shared that aside from all of the business moves she’s making, she’s grateful to have a business man, friend and mentor like Tyler Perry in her corner.
Tyler gives Crystal nothing to praise and love. He attended her birthday party this year and even spoke at the event.
Last year he shared on Instagram:
“She worked in my wardrobe department. She was my stylist for many years. She never told me that she wanted to act or even that she could act. She had secretly auditioned a couple times, but since I never saw them, she assumed that I didn’t think she had what it takes (…she never told me either).”
He continued, “After I created Sistas, she reluctantly asked if she could audition for a small role. So I said I’ll write a character for you, but you better kill it. And she KILLED IT! Fatima was born! I’m so damn proud of you @luvcrystalrenee. I’m crying happy tears for you as I wait to see you on stage tonight at the #BETAwards with all my other incredible ladies of Sistas, Ruthless, and All The Queen’s Men!! All these women make me so damn proud!! I love y’all.”
Crystal spoke with IHeartRadio and shared:
“Oh my goodness. Tyler changed my life when I started working at the studio, and being a part of that art was already life-changing. But when I started working for him personally, my life completely changed. Styling is such an intimate job, and being around someone as brilliant as Tyler, as Deval spoke, I’m telling you the conversations that I’ve heard, the tables that I sat at with him, watching him day to day, how he handles business, how he treats people, how he takes care of people, has all rubbed off on me. I’m super grateful to have had those years of really being able to study under him and learn so much so that now that I’m in this position, I’m able to handle it with Grace., I’m able to know what to do with it and how to honor it.”
In a recent interview with AfroTech, she shared more praise:
“All the experiences that gave me and continue to give me to allow me to able to make smart decisions and not be so ‘Oh my goodness.’ I’m not star-struck or impressed by a lot of things because of the things he [Tyler Perry] has allowed me to see,” Hayslett explained.
