Netflix’s “Heartstopper” Season 2 is currently filming and there’s going to be many new faces introduced this upcoming season!!
It was earlier announced that Jack Barton (Netflix’s “The Letter for the King”) has been cast as Nick’s older brother, David a university student who is less than enthusiastic about Nick and Charlie’s relationship.
British stage actor Nima Taleghani (“Cyrano de Bergerac”) will play Mr. Farouk, one of the teachers at Truham Grammar School, where Nick and Charlie attend with their friends Tao (William Gao) and Isaac (Tobie Donovan).
After a nationwide casting call, newcomer Leila Khan will play Sahar Zahid, a student from the Higgs Girls school, where Nick and Charlie’s friends Elle (Yasmin Finney), Tara (Corinna Brown) and Darcy (Kizzy Edgell) attend.
And Bradley Riches, who appeared as an unnamed student in Season 1 of “Heartstopper,” has been upped to a named character, James McEwan — a new character for the show.
The newest casting update is Call My Agent! star Thibault de Montalembert has boarded Netflix’s Heartstopper season two alongside up-and-comers Ash Self and Bel Priestley, with Olivia Colman confirmed to return.
De Montalembert will play Stephane, the father of main character Nick Nelson. Oscar-winner Colman will continue to star as Nick’s mother Sarah.
Heartstopper is based on graphic novels by the show’s writer, Alice Oseman. The series stars Kit Connor, Joe Locke, William Gao, Yasmin Finney, Corinna Brown, Kizzy Edgell, Tobie Donovan, Rhea Norwood, Jenny Walser, Sebastian Croft, Cormac Hyde-Corrin, Fisayo Akinade, Chetna Pandya, Stephen Fry, and Olivia Colman. The story follows the life of Charlie Spring (Locke), a gay student who falls in love with his friend and classmate Nick Nelson (Connor). The show also follows the lives of their friends Tao (Gao), Elle (Finney), Tara (Brown), Darcy (Edgell), and Isaac (Donovan).
