The Ms Pat Show Season 2 brought the heat and is currently one of the most streamed series on BET+ right now.
The Star of the show Patricia Williams recently shared her favorite episode of the season during an interview with WAB.
They asked:
Memorable moments from Season 2 of “The Ms. Pat Show.”?
She shared:
“The favorite episode for me this year — I think I have two. One is a robbery episode, where we get robbed. I think that’s hilarious, but the more groundbreaking for me is a Black hair episode, where I did an episode about how, as a kid, my mama would call me nappy-headed, and she would say my sister looks a lot better than I do. To me, that’s where the trauma started, with my hair, with my mama telling me it was nappy, it was kinky, and making me think, as a kid, that there was something wrong,” said Ms. Pat. “So many other Black girls have heard those words or have gone through those things, and I just wanted to do an episode on it because I had never seen it done like that before.”
We loved the episode on Black hair! We’re so proud of the cast and crew for showcasing important topics within the Black community and we can’t wait for Season 3 which was already renewed!
Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams, J. Bernard Calloway, Tami Roman, Theodore Barnes, and newcomer Briyana Guadalupe star in the comedy. The show is based on Ms. Pat’s memoirs which tell the story “of a former convicted felon turned suburban mom and stand-up comedian, whose hustle and resilient spirit were forged on the streets of Atlanta. She now finds herself and her family in conservative middle America.”
Brian Grazer, Lee Daniels, President of Imagine Television Samie Kim Falvey, and Anthony Hill (who serves as the series’ showrunner) will executive produce, alongside Ms. Pat and Jordan E. Cooper (Star), who also penned the pilot. Ms. Pat marks Grazer’s and Daniels’ first scripted project on the network.
