Dove Cameron’s debut album has been a long time coming, and after years of anticipation, the wait has finally paid off.
Following the release of Alchemical: Volume 1, fans expected a second installment that would eventually lead to her highly anticipated debut album. However, Dove and her team ultimately scrapped those plans, reclassifying Alchemical: Volume 1 as an EP. Now, she’s officially stepping into a new chapter with the release of her debut album, Final Girl.
And it’s safe to say she came prepared.
Final Girl is an impressive body of work that showcases Dove’s artistry, versatility, and ability to create music that feels both personal and captivating. From the production to the songwriting, the album delivers an experience that makes the years of waiting worthwhile. We’re giving it a well-deserved 10/10.

Among the standout tracks are “Silver Screen Baby,” “Do The Math,” “Breaks Open,” “Immortalized Hands of Man,” and “Heaven Is a Jazz Club.” Each brings something different to the project, making it difficult to settle on just one favorite.
The album also takes an emotional turn toward the end, closing with heartfelt tributes honoring two people who played significant roles in Dove’s life: her late father, who died by suicide, and her former Descendants co-star Cameron Boyce, who passed away in 2019 following an epileptic seizure.

It’s a deeply personal way to close out the project, reminding listeners that behind the artistry is a woman whose experiences, relationships, and losses have helped shape who she is today.

Overall, Dove Cameron delivered with Final Girl. This is more than just a long-awaited debut; it’s an introduction to an artist who deserves to be taken seriously in the music industry.
If Dove wasn’t already on your radar, now is the time to pay attention. Final Girl is worth the listen, and we hope this is only the beginning.
