Actor Travis Cure, known for his role in Tyler Perry’s hit drama The Oval, is facing a lawsuit from an ex-girlfriend who alleges that he knowingly exposed her to genital herpes without disclosing his diagnosis.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the woman claims she began dating Cure in August 2024 and did not have any other sexual partners during their relationship. She alleges that the actor knew about his herpes diagnosis but failed to inform her before they became intimate.
The woman is suing Cure for negligence and battery over the allegations.
However, Cure is disputing her claims and has offered a different account of their relationship in his legal response.
According to the report, the actor acknowledged having herpes and confirmed that the two were sexually involved. However, he maintains that he consistently used condoms during their encounters.
Cure also disputes the woman’s characterization of their relationship, arguing that they were never exclusive. He reportedly claims that she was also involved with other men during the period in question.
Additionally, Cure alleges that his former partner already knew about his diagnosis and only raised concerns after their relationship ended and he began dating someone else.
The actor has also challenged whether his former partner can establish that he transmitted the virus to her, disputing her account of the circumstances surrounding the alleged exposure.
The lawsuit remains ongoing, and the allegations have not been established in court. Both sides have presented conflicting accounts, and the case will ultimately depend on the evidence and legal proceedings.
As the situation develops, the allegations have drawn attention because of Cure’s connection to The Oval, the popular political drama created by Tyler Perry.
