Cory Hardrict is joining Crystal Renee Hayslett in an intense new psychological thriller that will explore the dark side of marriage, control, and emotional manipulation.
The actor has officially joined the cast of Conditioned, a film directed by Courtney Glaudé and the first release under Tyler Perry Studios’ new specialty label, Maxscene. The upcoming thriller is expected to hit theaters in early 2027.
Hayslett, known for her role as Fatima in Tyler Perry’s hit series Sistas and its spinoff Zatima, will lead the film as Nyla Belle, a woman whose seemingly perfect marriage hides a troubling reality.

According to the film’s synopsis, Nyla’s relationship gradually reveals invisible patterns of control that develop into a Stockholm syndrome-like bond. As the situation intensifies, she finds herself approaching a breaking point she never anticipated.
Hardrict’s addition brings another familiar face to the highly anticipated project. The actor has appeared in numerous film and television productions throughout his career, making him an exciting addition to the cast.
Glaudé reportedly decided to cast Hayslett after watching just one scene of her work. The director praised her performance, describing it as “really, really powerful in a short amount of time.”
The project also marks an important step for Tyler Perry Studios as it introduces Maxscene, a new specialty label launching with a psychological thriller centered on a complicated and unsettling relationship.
With Hayslett taking on a leading role outside her familiar television projects and Hardrict joining the cast, audiences can expect a gripping story that examines how manipulation can hide behind the appearance of a perfect marriage.
Conditioned is scheduled to arrive in theaters in early 2027. More details about the film, including additional cast members and its official release date, are expected to emerge as the project moves closer to its debut.
