Nelson Thomas Speaks Out After ‘The Challenge 42’ Exit Over Kitchen Incident

Nelson Thomas is speaking out after his unexpected exit from “The Challenge 42: Cutthroat.”

Thomas, who was among the cast members removed from the competition after a reported altercation involving fellow castmates Leo Dionicio and Josh Goldstein, addressed the situation on social media Thursday.

In a post, Thomas acknowledged his actions and took responsibility for damaging the kitchen during the incident.

“I let my emotions take over, broke dishes, destroyed kitchen and violated the code of conduct,” Thomas wrote. “That’s on me. I’m learning and growing.”

Thomas also revealed that he received a private-message apology from Goldstein, who was also removed from the competition.

Nelson Says the Situation Goes Beyond the Show

In a second post, Thomas addressed the reported racial incident that occurred before the cast members were sent home.

Thomas said he was giving Goldstein “space to take ownership publicly” while emphasizing that having Black friends does not excuse the use of a racial slur.

“Saving you have Black friends doesn’t give you a pass to use the N-word,” Thomas wrote. “This goes beyond TV. We need accountability, understanding, and growth.”

During Wednesday’s episode, host TJ Lavin informed the cast that Goldstein, Dionicio and Thomas had all violated the show’s code of conduct and were no longer part of the competition. The episode did not provide further details about what happened.

According to the spoiler account GamerVev, Dionicio was disqualified for allegedly using the racial slur during a confrontation with Thomas. Goldstein was reportedly disqualified for repeating the slur, while Thomas was removed after damaging the kitchen following his confrontation with Goldstein.

Thomas has now acknowledged his own role in the incident while also calling for accountability surrounding the reported use of the slur.

The situation has sparked discussion among “The Challenge” fans, particularly over how the show handled the incident and the decision to remove all three cast members.
