The Traitors isn’t going anywhere! Peacock has officially ordered three additional seasons of its hit reality competition series, extending the franchise through Season 8.
The announcement comes just as the franchise is entering another major moment. Peacock’s latest season delivered the show’s biggest ratings to date, with viewership increasing 72% compared with the previous season. According to Peacock and Nielsen data, the series accumulated 8.1 billion minutes viewed from its January 8 premiere through September 6, 2026.
Alan Cumming Is Staying Put 👀
Fans can also expect Alan Cumming to continue as host.
Cumming recently earned his third consecutive Emmy for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program, further cementing his connection to the franchise.
And the show is coming off a historic night at the Emmys. The latest season won seven Emmys, including Outstanding Reality Competition Program and Outstanding Host. Peacock says those seven wins are the most ever won by a competition series in a single year.
‘The Traitors’ Is Expanding Again
The new order comes in addition to the previously announced upcoming season returning in 2027, meaning Peacock has committed to multiple more rounds of secret alliances, murders, banishments and betrayals inside the Scottish Highlands castle.
But fans don’t have to wait until 2027 for more Traitors content.
The Traitors: New Blood premieres Thursday, September 17 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC, featuring everyday Americans instead of the celebrity-heavy casts associated with the flagship series. Episodes will stream on Peacock the following day.
The new edition features 22 everyday Americans selected from more than 80,000 applicants, giving the franchise a fresh twist while keeping Alan Cumming in the host’s chair.
With three additional seasons now ordered, the castle clearly has plenty more deception in store.
