The Rookie Cast Supports Jenna Dewan Ahead of Dancing With the Stars

Jenna Dewan has the entire Mid-Wilshire crew in her corner!

The cast of ABC’s hit series The Rookie is showing some major love to their costar as Dewan prepares to trade the fire station for the ballroom on the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars.

In a sweet video shared on The Rookie’s official Instagram account, members of the cast came together to send Dewan words of encouragement ahead of her big DWTS debut.

“You got this, @jennadewan 💃 Sending love from Mid-Wilshire Station,” the show captioned the post while reminding fans about the upcoming two-night premiere.

The support comes as Dewan continues filming Season 9 of The Rookie while simultaneously preparing for the demanding ballroom competition. She stars on the police drama as Bailey Nune, firefighter, paramedic and wife of John Nolan.

And it appears the support shown in the Instagram video isn’t just for social media.

Dewan recently revealed that her Rookie family has been extremely excited about her new adventure. She said castmates including Melissa O’Neil, Alyssa Diaz and Mekia Cox have expressed interest in coming to the ballroom to watch her compete. Cox’s own dance background has apparently made her particularly excited about Dewan’s journey.

Dewan has also confirmed that The Rookie production is supporting her as she balances both shows, meaning fans don’t have to worry about her leaving the series to compete.

Jenna Dewan Is Heading to the Ballroom

Dewan will compete on Season 35 of Dancing With the Stars alongside professional partner Val Chmerkovskiy.

Although she’s new to the DWTS ballroom, Dewan certainly isn’t new to dancing. Long before becoming Bailey on The Rookie, she worked professionally as a dancer and famously starred in the 2006 dance movie Step Up. Ballroom, however, is a different discipline, and Dewan has said learning it requires her to adjust some of her previous dance instincts.

Now she’ll have her Rookie family cheering her on every step of the way.

Dancing With the Stars Season 35 premieres Tuesday, September 15, and continues Wednesday, September 16, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+. Episodes will stream the following day on Hulu.

We love to see a cast supporting one another! ❤️ Will you be rooting for Jenna Dewan to bring home the Mirrorball Trophy?
