KJ Smith and Skyh Black are celebrating another year of love!
The married couple recently marked their third wedding anniversary, and they did it with a stunning photo that has fans swooning. In the intimate image, the Sistas actress looks gorgeous in a sleek olive-green gown while standing alongside her husband, who looks dapper in an all-black suit. The couple poses together on a grand staircase, perfectly capturing the elegance and love they have shared throughout their relationship.
Smith and Black officially became husband and wife on September 3, 2023, during a lavish Malibu wedding ceremony at The Malibu Dream Resort. Their wedding took place in the same location where they had their first date, making the setting especially meaningful to their love story.
The couple’s journey began years earlier. Smith and Black first crossed paths while working together on Tyler Perry’s Sistas. Their relationship eventually blossomed after they reconnected during the pandemic, and they began dating in January 2021. By December of that same year, Black had proposed.
Their wedding was a major celebration surrounded by family, friends and many of their fellow stars from Tyler Perry’s BET productions. Approximately 150 guests attended the Malibu celebration, with guests famously dressed in black as part of the couple’s #TheBlackExperience wedding theme. Smith and Black stood out in elegant all-white looks.
Since saying “I do,” the couple has continued to build both a marriage and a family together.
In 2025, Smith and Black announced that they were expecting their first child. Their daughter, Pryde JaNea Black, was born on October 4, 2025. The couple later opened up about the difficult circumstances surrounding her birth, revealing that Smith required an emergency C-section after complications during labor.
The arrival of their daughter added another special chapter to their relationship, with Black embracing fatherhood and the couple expressing how deeply the experience changed them.
Professionally, the pair has also continued to make their mark in the entertainment industry. Smith is best known for playing Andi Barnes on Sistas, while Black stars as Amp “Addiction” Anthony on All the Queen’s Men. They have also expanded their work together behind the scenes through their production company, Blackhouse.
Now, three years after walking down the aisle, Smith and Black appear to be enjoying this new chapter as husband, wife and parents.
