Chock Chapple Reveals Prostate Cancer Diagnosis and Surgery

Chock Chapple shares a health update revealing his prostate cancer diagnosis and recent prostate removal surgery, while encouraging men to get their PSA levels checked.

Former The Golden Bachelorette star Chock Chapple is opening up about a deeply personal health battle and encouraging other men to take their health screenings seriously.

Chock shared a life update on social media, revealing that doctors discovered an elevated PSA level that ultimately led to additional testing, including an MRI and multiple biopsies.

According to Chock, the cancer was found to be aggressive, and he made the decision to have his prostate removed last Wednesday.

Chock Chapple Says His Family Helped Make the Decision

Chock explained that losing his mother to cancer made the diagnosis especially meaningful for him. He also shared that a conversation with his son about how much time he wanted to have with his grandchildren helped put the decision into perspective.

His priority, he said, was to be present for his family — including Joan Vassos, his partner from The Golden Bachelorette.

“Be around. For them. For Joan, for the rest of her life,” Chock wrote in his update.

The couple’s relationship became one of the biggest success stories to come out of The Golden Bachelorette. Joan chose Chock during the show’s first season, and the two have continued their relationship after leaving the reality series.

Chock Encourages Men to Get Their PSA Checked

Rather than keeping his diagnosis private, Chock used the update to encourage other men to be proactive about their health.

He urged men to get tested and have their PSA levels checked, emphasizing the importance of catching potential problems early.

“Early is everything,” he wrote.

His message comes as a reminder that regular conversations with doctors and recommended screenings can play an important role in detecting prostate problems.

Chock Says His Europe Trip Is Still Happening

Despite undergoing surgery, Chock said he has been cleared to travel and is still planning to take his trip to Europe with Joan at the end of August.

“I’m ready!” he wrote.

He also thanked Bachelor Nation for the support he has received following his announcement.

Fans of The Golden Bachelorette have rallied around Chock and Joan throughout their relationship, and his latest update has prompted an outpouring of support as he recovers from surgery.

For now, Chock appears focused on healing, spending time with the people he loves and looking ahead to his next chapter with Joan.
