ABC is looking to turn the page on The Bachelor franchise.
Although the long-running dating series has faced its share of challenges in recent years, network executives remain optimistic about the future. With Bachelor in Paradise showrunner Scott Teti now leading The Bachelor, Season 30 is scheduled to premiere in 2027 as part of a new chapter for the iconic reality series.

Disney executive Rob Mills acknowledged that the franchise has experienced “growing pains” following recent controversies, but emphasized that the network remains committed to restoring the show’s momentum.
According to Mills, taking a broader look at the franchise was necessary, and the goal is to ensure the next era of The Bachelor is built with care and long-term success in mind.
“The Bachelor is almost a perfect format and it is really powerful,” Mills said. “It’s over two decades old, and it’s seen really good days and really bad days. But it’s always had a lot of resilience.”
He credited both the creative team and the franchise’s loyal fanbase for helping the series endure through changing television trends.
Looking ahead, Mills expressed confidence that Season 30 will mark the beginning of a resurgence.

“When The Bachelor comes back next year, it will be done with a lot of thoughtfulness and care. I do think better days are ahead for the franchise.”
ABC is hoping the refreshed creative direction can place The Bachelor back alongside reality television’s biggest success stories, including Dancing with the Stars and American Idol, both of which have enjoyed renewed popularity in recent years.
With a milestone 30th season on the horizon and a revamped creative vision, fans will be watching closely to see whether the beloved dating franchise can recapture the magic that made it a television phenomenon.
