A post shared on Tony Yayo’s official Facebook page is generating buzz among POWER fans after highlighting comments from 50 Cent about the behind-the-scenes dynamics that allegedly shaped the hit Starz series.
According to the Facebook post, the comments came from a recent GQ interview in which 50 Cent discussed his acting career and reflected on portraying Kanan Stark in POWER.
The post claims that 50 Cent said tension began to build after many viewers started referring to POWER as “the 50 Cent show,” even though Courtney Kemp created and wrote the series.
It also alleges that 50 Cent described friction between Courtney Kemp and Omari Hardwick, who played James “Ghost” St. Patrick.
According to the Facebook post, 50 Cent claimed Ghost was originally planned to die during Season 3. However, he said he opposed the idea and instead suggested that his own character, Kanan, be written off because he was increasingly busy with projects outside the show.
The post further states that 50 Cent believes many fans still feel Ghost should never have been killed off, adding that he shares that opinion.
The claims have sparked renewed discussion among POWER fans, though neither Courtney Kemp nor Omari Hardwick has publicly responded to the remarks referenced in Tony Yayo’s post.
