Just days before The Challenge 42 premieres on August 5, rookie Josh Goldstein has become the subject of intense online speculation over unverified allegations about his behavior during filming.
Rumors circulating across X (formerly Twitter) claim that the former Love Island USA contestant allegedly used the N-word while inside the Challenge house, leading to significant drama among the cast. At the time of publication, MTV, Bunim/Murray Productions, and Josh Goldstein have not publicly addressed the claims, and the allegations remain unverified.
The controversy gained more attention after longtime Challenge veteran Amanda Garcia posted a cryptic message suggesting fans may change their opinion of a “Love Island loser” once the season airs.
“I wonder how many people will stand behind that Love Island loser when they find out what he did this season. Enjoy your clout while it lasts cuz your career is OVER. #CamillADIOS.”
Fellow Challenge veteran Paulie Calafiore later appeared to reference past controversies within the franchise, writing:
“Probably the same people who stood behind Bear when we knew the tea on him back then.”
Meanwhile, social media users have continued sharing additional claims alleging Josh used a racial slur during filming. However, none of those claims have been independently verified.
The allegations have sparked widespread discussion online as fans await the season premiere to see whether the rumored incident is addressed on-screen.
Until an official statement is released or the events are shown during the season, the rumors should be treated as unconfirmed.
The Challenge 42 premieres Tuesday, August 5, on MTV.
