The Power universe is officially going back to where it all began.
STARZ has released the first look at Power Origins, giving fans their first glimpse of Spence Moore as a young James “Ghost” St. Patrick and Charlie Mann as a young Tommy Egan. The two actors take over the iconic roles originally portrayed by Omari Hardwick and Joseph Sikora in the hit crime drama Power.
Along with the first-look images, STARZ also dropped the show’s first teaser, offering fans a preview of the friendship that would eventually become one of television’s most unforgettable partnerships.
Power Origins Has an 18-Episode Order
Unlike many premium cable dramas that typically receive shorter seasons, Power Origins has been given an impressive 18-episode order, signaling STARZ’s confidence in the newest installment of the ever-expanding franchise.
The series will explore the early lives of Ghost and Tommy, chronicling how the childhood friends grew into the powerful drug kingpins fans first met in the original Power.
A New Generation Takes Over
Casting younger versions of two of television’s most beloved antiheroes was always going to be a challenge, but fans are eager to see what Spence Moore and Charlie Mann bring to the roles.
Omari Hardwick’s portrayal of Ghost and Joseph Sikora’s performance as Tommy helped make Power a cultural phenomenon, and the prequel offers an opportunity to explore stories that were only hinted at throughout the original series.
