ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” fans are patiently waiting for the upcoming 3rd season and now that the SAG strike is over, fans don’t have to wait much longer.
After the WAG strike came to an end, Quinta Brunson gave fans an update.
She shared;
“My [writers] room was ready to go back I was ready to go back. Talking about that arc helps us start to put together episodes. So we talk about our arc, talk about the stories we want to tell, the special, unique, funny stories that can fall within that arc. We talked about our premiere, which I’m trying not to spoil. That became the focus of the past two weeks.
[There’s] a lot of heavy lifting to do, [as far as] explaining our absence…in a way that we think engages the audience, protects the world we built. So that felt inspiring, to build something that was both grounded, and for this premiere, splashy enough to bring people back at the same time.”
It was just revealed that the season will have 14 episodes and film at the end of the month:

Abbott Elementary stars series creator Quinta Brunson, as well as Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, Chris Perfetti, Lisa Ann Walter, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and William Stanford Davis. The story follows a group of dedicated, passionate teachers (as well as a slightly tone-deaf principal) as they navigate the Philadelphia public school system. Despite the odds stacked against them, the staff at Willard R. Abbott Public School is determined to help their students succeed in life. Though these public servants may be outnumbered and underfunded, they love what they do — even if they don’t love the school district’s less-than-stellar attitude toward educating children. The teachers include Janine Teagues (Brunson), Gregory Eddie (Williams), Melissa Schemmenti (Walter), Jacob Hill (Perfetti), and Barbara Howard (Ralph). Ava Coleman (James) is the school’s inept principal, and Mr. Johnson (Davis) is the eccentric janitor.
