CBS’s “Survivor” Star Shantel Smith just officially tied the knot with her husband Jason Francis!
Back in May, Shan shared a very special post to Jason.
She shared:
“I can honestly say I’m marrying my best friend in precisely four months!
I hate seeing engagement posts that make it seem like everything was perfect. Our relationship was not perfect. We had to work at it very diligently. It involved a lot of trust a lot of vulnerability a lot of mistakes a lot of forgiveness a lot of understanding a lot of grace, a lot of God at the center. But there’s nobody else in this world Babe, that I feel safest and most comfortable and most happy and most passionate and most driven and most healed and most loved and most cared for… God I could go on 🥹. I’m blessed. I’m just incredibly blessed. If you’ve ever met Jason you know that he’s a rarity; pure soul, child of light, gentle, meek, humble, loving, sincere, authentic. He is and will for always be my better half. A much better human than me, but someone I aspire to be like.
Friends, find one who says what they mean and will do what they say. You shouldn’t have to be decoding, parsing or Nancy Drewing your way through your relationship. Find one who will fight to understand you. Find one who honors you in every way. Someone you still want in your bed even after the war. Someone you just at your core would never want to hurt or harm, though you may, in any way, and who will protect you from the world, others and yourself. Someone who is just as passionate and committed to seeing you fulfill your dreams and chase kingdom.
The one thing I recognize about this entire thing is that when you meet that person whoever that person is that you choose to spend this life with keep in mind that it will be hard – but it shouldn’t be complicated; So complicated that you’re stressed and wrecked and ruined and hiding things and holding things back from one another. The hardness Should have everything to do with two people trying to become one in every way and nothing to do with you sacrificing and chipping away at yourself.
Lastly. Feelings. Feelings are great ! But Feelings also lie. They lie. they lie. they lie. Watch the fit. It the fit is right, in time the feelings will follow.
