ABC’s “The Rookie” fans are missing the show and it’s sucks that we won’t be able to get new episodes for probably one whole year!!
The series was renewed for a 6th season but put on hold due to the writers and actors strike.
Fans are still enjoying reruns of the show and continue to spot new things they find in the episodes.
One fan spotted a Jackson mention in a Season 5 episode and shared the cool moment on Reddit.

“In one of the earlier seasons Tim and Jackson were chasing someone and they came across a dog and Jackson pulled out a dog treat and tossed it to distract the dog. Tim asked him if he just so happen to have had that on him. He told him “No, my dad taught me to always carry dog treats in my pocket.”
Then in season 5 there is the episode where Nolan and Celina are searching the city for limbs. They meet the guy with the dog that won’t let go of the foot and John pulls out dog treats. Celina asked him if he always carried dog treats and he told her “Yeah, it was a tip from a friend.”

Actor Titus Makin Jr. played the role of Jackson West, a police officer assigned to the Mid-Wilshire Division. He trained under multiple LAPD officers, including Angela Lopez (Alyssa Diaz), Doug Stanton (Brandon Routh) and Quigley Smitty (Brent Huff). West first appeared in the pilot episode of The Rookie in October 2018 and was a main character until his unfortunate death in season 4, episode 1. Per Soap
Makin Jr.’s left the Rookie on his own terms but has not publicly stated why he left in season 4. What we do know is that Makin Jr.’s almost departed the series a season early — back in season 3 — following the tragic deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor at the hands of the police. “I woke up one morning and I was watching the news, and I was like, ‘I can’t do this. I can’t go play a cop on a show and not talk about the fact that I’m a Black cop.’ My character hadn’t addressed any of that,” he told Entertainment Weekly in 2020.
