Netflix’s “Cobra Kai” is currently in production for it’s 6th season and the show was just interrupted!!
Cobra Kai is reaching the end soon with it’s 6th season. The Netflix series (formally a YouTube Original) is returning for its sixth and final season after the legendary battle between Cobra Kai, Eagle Fang, and Miyagi-Do.
Fans will now have to wait a bit longer for the premiere as filming was recently put on pause due to the writers strike!
Cobra Kai has shut down its writers room for Season 6. Series co-creator Jon Hurwitz tweeted “No writers on set” along with a group photo of the writers.
Writer Jon shared in April:
“Cobra Kai Season 6 writers room squad! Love spending my days with these people! (But we may need to thin the herd, so we don’t completely block the Eagle Fang van in our next group picture.) #CobraKai #Netflix”
He added in May:
“We hate to strike, but if we must, we strike hard. Pencils down in the Cobra Kai writers room. No writers on set. These aren’t fun times, but it’s unfortunately necessary. The moment a fair deal is in place, we’ll get back to kicking ass. In the meantime, sending strength and support to the negotiating committee. You got this. #WGA #WGAStrong #writersstrike”

Created by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg, the Cobra Kai series is a sequel to The Karate Kid films. The show takes place over 30 years after the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, with the continuation of the conflict between Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka). The fifth season’s cast also includes Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni Decenzo, Vanessa Rubio, Peyton List, Martin Kove, Dallas Dupree Young, Oona O’Brien, Griffin Santopietro, Yuji Okumoto, and Thomas Ian Griffith.
