BET’s “Sistas”, “Zatima” and more creator Tyler Perry is currently putting in a friendly battle to buy the BET network!!
Tyler Perry currently has most of the hit series that’s currently airing on the channel plus their streamer BET+ so the move isn’t surprising one bit.
The buy isn’t going easy as he was confronted with a bit of competition!
Rapper turned mogul 50 Cent just shared that he’s also fighting for the deal:
Billionaire media mogul Byron Allen also shared that there is no bad blood between him and Tyler Perry before a potential bidding war over BET.
“I love Tyler. To put us against each other. If he gets it, it’s great. If I get it, it’s great. This is a big opportunity. BET is a great American brand and if it becomes available, we’re very interested and we will pursue it vigorously,”
Perry signed a TV and film deal with BET back in 2019.
He confirmed to “Entertainment Tonight” that it’s “not a rumor” that he’s interested in buying the media outlet. Per PageSix
He continued; “If it’s possible, I’m gonna take as much of it as I can,”
