Hallmark’s “When Calls The Heart” Star Erin Krakow is beyond excited for the upcoming 10th season and so are we!!
The season is set to debut on July 30th and will originally hit 100 episodes which is such a huge milestone.
Erin recently spoke with TVINSIDER to talk about what’s in store for the show and teased that fans will love the music this season.
“It’s going to be epic. It’s going to be a very exciting, dramatic, romantic season. There’s music. It’s really jam-packed, and I’m very proud of it.
I continue to feel so proud to be a part of When Calls the Heart and grateful that the Hearties have kept us on the air all these years, that Hallmark continues to believe in our show. Season 1, I think, we filmed in 2013; it aired in 2014. It was a long time ago. And the show has changed and grown a lot since then. But looking back, I just feel a lot of pride to be a part of it.”
“When Calls the Heart’ has continued to be a standout amongst our Hallmark catalogue and we’re thrilled that we’re able to bring more stories of faith and community to the homes of millions of viewers,” said Lisa Hamilton Daly, Executive Vice President, Programming. “The uplifting nature of the show paired with the love and positivity in the storytelling makes for a very heartwarming television experience and it’s only going to get bigger and better in season 10/11.” The ninth season of hit drama “When Calls the Heart’s” ratings culminated with a season high, with the final episode (9012) ranking as the most watched of the season in Households (2.6 million), and among Women 18+ (2.3 million) and Total Viewers (3.1 million) on a Live+3 basis. The program also ranked as this year’s #1 most-watched original scripted series on ad-supported cable in Households (2.4 million), and among Women 18+ (2.2 million) and Total Viewers (2.9 million). After 12 episodes, the season also reached over 8.6 million unduplicated/unique Total Viewers.
Get ready for a fun summer! Season 11 starts filming this summer as well.
“When Calls the Heart” follows the story of a young schoolteacher and single mother, Elizabeth Thornton (Erin Krakow), in the quaint town of Hope Valley. When her husband is suddenly killed on duty, she must find the courage and strength to move forward. With the help and guidance of the townspeople and her friends, she adjusts to the ever-changing times and the people that enter her life.
Other central characters include Rosemary Coulter (Pascale Hutton), Elizabeth’s best friend, the town’s loveable busybody once described as “part Broadway showgirl, part Frontier woman,” and her patient husband, the upstanding businessman Leland Coulter (Kavan Smith). Judge Bill Avery (Jack Wagner) works hard to protect the town and to cement his position as Hope Valley’s ultimate authority. Fairly new to the community are Mountie Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry) and saloon owner Lucas Bouchard (Chris McNally), who both vie for the attention of Elizabeth. With the added pressure on deciding between her suitors, writing a novel and taking care of her son, Elizabeth continues to teach the children of Hope Valley all while trying to navigate the challenges in her life.
