BET’s “Sistas” & “Zatima” Star Crystal Renee Hayslett is currently celebrating the Season 2 premiere of “Zatima” and she’s speaking about the show being a top streamer already!!
During Season 1, the show quickly reached #1 on Amazon Prime and BET+ quickly solidifying the show as a hit for the network.
During the Season 2 premiere Crystal spoke with Rodney of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Speaking on going from Tyler’s stylist to actress, she shared:
“I feel like a lot of times when you’re in a particular position, you need to do what you’re supposed to do in that position. There are so many people coming to Tyler every day asking him for something. I didn’t want to be that person.”
We’re beyond happy that Tyler eventually found out that Crystal wanted to act because she was literally born for it!
During the interview, she even acknowledged the quick success “Zatima” has seen.
She shared:
“The fans really showed up and showed out. We were No. 1 on the network. We’re taking the audience on a ride. They’re so used to seeing us laughing and being in love. But that isn’t always going to happen.”
The cast and crew deserves all the success and more. We can see an Emmy run for the leads in the near future.
Season 2 Plot:
“Zac and Fatima’s relationship is challenged on a whole new level” in Season 2. “Zac deals with internal discord which is only exacerbated after seeing his mother, Gladys, whom he hasn’t seen in quite a long time. Fatima begins to question herself and if she’s really what Zac needs when she can’t get through to him about dealing with past issues.”
Zatima‘s cast includes Devale Ellis as Zac, Crystal Renee Hayslett as Fatima, Cameron Fuller as Nathan, Remington Hoffman as Bryce, Nzinga Imani as Angela, Jasmin Brown as Deja, Guyviaud Joseph as Tony, Danielle LaRoach as Belinda and Marquita Goings as Valerie.
