Starz “Black Mafia Family” Season 2 is officially done airing and the finale episode was definitely one you didn’t want to miss!
The show is already renewed for a Season 3 so be prepared for more Mafia Family drama in the future but until then, see what Showrunner Heather Zuhlke said about how Season 2 finale connects to the future of the show.
Variety asked:
How does what transpired throughout the season really affect those future plans?
It’s definitely pushing the story forward. Meech heads out to Atlanta in our finale. Terry is left to take care of Detroit. You’ll see that manifesting itself in Season 3 where Atlanta really gets to become a character of the show, which is exciting, and then Terry will be handling the D.
I’m sure with Meech building a new team in Atlanta, that means new cast members?
We have a lot of new faces this season, which is really exciting. We’ve cast Ne-Yo, we’ve cast 2Chainz who are just a delight on set and had so much fun and flavor. That’s been really fun to work with them. We have so many new faces. I just can’t wait for the world to meet all the the new characters because we’re expanding the world. We’re always working diligently on all of our characters’ — especially our new characters’ — backstories and what is the hole in the soul? What drives them? What happened in the past that informs the present?

Season 3 will be a huge season! The show has already cast singer Neyo and rapper 2 Chainz.
BMF captures the essence of Detroit through elevated, gritty storytelling and our fans have passionately responded to this show more than ever before,” said Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming for STARZ. “Following such a strong debut with season two, we’re thrilled to continue to expand on the incredible story of the Flenory brothers as they change the game by writing their own rules. We can’t wait to see what our extraordinary producers and cast deliver next.”
“BMF” is inspired by true legends two brothers Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory (Demetrius Flenory, Jr.) and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory (Da’Vinchi), who rose from the decaying streets of southwest Detroit in the late ’80s and gave birth to one of the most influential crime families in the country, Black Mafia Family.
“BMF” is executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson (Executive Producer of the “Power” Universe, “For Life,” “Hip Hop Homicides”), alongside showrunner, executive producer, writer and Detroit native Randy Huggins (“Star,” “Rebel,” “Power”). Heather Zuhlke, Anthony Wilson and Anne Clements also serve as executive producers on the series. “BMF” is produced through Jackson’s G-Unit Film and Television in association with Lionsgate Television for STARZ. Senior Vice President of Original Programming Kathryn Tyus-Adair is the executive overseeing “BMF” on behalf of STARZ. Erin Conroy is the executive overseeing the series on behalf of Lionsgate.
