ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” Star Quinta Brunson is gearing up to make one of the biggest and most fun moves ever and we’re so excited!!
The Emmy winning star was picked to host SNL and this is all going down on April 1st.
The musical guest for the night will be the rapper Lil Yachty, also making his SNL debut.
Now the bad part is that the staff of SNL are currently unhappy with their work conditions.
SNL‘s post-production editors are prepared to strike and thus disrupt that weekend’s show if their bid for fair pay and better health benefits has not been satisfied by an April 1 deadline. Per TVLINE
SNL’s labor tensions have already made their way on screen. When Pedro Pascal hosted on Feb. 4, several permanent cast members closed the show while donning “Contract Now” shirts.
NBC told Deadline that it hopes to reach an agreement with the Motion Picture Editors Guild, which represents SNL’s post-production staff, ahead of Brunson’s debut.

Abbott Elementary stars series creator Quinta Brunson, as well as Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, Chris Perfetti, Lisa Ann Walter, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and William Stanford Davis. The story follows a group of dedicated, passionate teachers (as well as a slightly tone-deaf principal) as they navigate the Philadelphia public school system. Despite the odds stacked against them, the staff at Willard R. Abbott Public School is determined to help their students succeed in life. Though these public servants may be outnumbered and underfunded, they love what they do — even if they don’t love the school district’s less-than-stellar attitude toward educating children. The teachers include Janine Teagues (Brunson), Gregory Eddie (Williams), Melissa Schemmenti (Walter), Jacob Hill (Perfetti), and Barbara Howard (Ralph). Ava Coleman (James) is the school’s inept principal, and Mr. Johnson (Davis) is the eccentric janitor.
