Peacock’s “Bel Air” Season 2 is finally here so you know that means the press will be asking the cast about Will Smith’s Oscar slap!
It just seems to us that the industry just cannot get over that night for some strange reason.
Bel-Air creator, Morgan Cooper spoke with Yahoo Entertainment recently and like expected, they brought up the Will Smith Slap.
Cooper shared:
“Will has been and continues to be a tremendous partner throughout this process. He’s been incredibly supportive on the heels of Season 1 and into Season 2. I’ve got nothing but good things to say about Will.
It was a human that hasn’t changed my opinion. Will is a great guy, and he’s demonstrated that with his actions throughout the whole Bel-Air development process, back when this was just my short film. There’s so much happening in the world right now. Again, that was a very human moment that took place [at the Oscars], but human moments happen — nobody’s perfect, and it’s important not to be judgmental. I’ve seen the content of his character on a day-to-day basis with this crew, this cast, my producing partners, the network and the studio. Day in and day out, I’ve seen a guy who is committed to excellence and committed to putting people in the position to do their best work. That’s been Will since Day 1, and I’m very proud to be in partnership with him.”
Kind of feel like the publications want others to bash Will Smith! Weird of them to keep asking the same questions over and over a year later!

Season two of Bel-Air picks up with Will at a crossroads in his life as a new figure comes into his life who challenges what he’s learned in Bel-Air and competes for control of his influence. He juggles this while navigating his home life with the Banks family and trying to rebuild the trust that was broken at the end of last season. We’ll see Will and Carlton’s brotherhood start to evolve as they grow closer, but still challenge each other about their differences. We’ll also see Hilary evolve as she becomes more of a boss in her influencer world and how that spills over into her relationship with Jazz, and also highlight the relatable struggles around Viv and Phil balancing marriage and family while trying to forge their own career paths and reconnect to the things that are important to them.
