NBC’s Magnum PI” making the switch to NBC from CBS might’ve been the best thing to happen to the show yet!!
When the show was picked up by NBC, it was reported that the show would be renewed for two seasons that consist of 10 episodes each with room for more but we have a quick update on this information.
Magnum PI will take over the network schedule on Sunday, February 19th.
Season 5 premiere has been expanded to two hours and will be preceded by two fourth-season reruns.
NBC picked it up for 20 episodes. The network has confirmed that the 20-episode order will make up a two-part fifth season which means a Season 6 renewal is still up in the air.
Season 5 premiere plot:
“Magnum and Higgins weigh the risks of pursuing a relationship. Rick juggles being a new father and running La Mariana. Katsumoto tries to figure out his next move.”
Jay Hernandez leads the cast as Thomas Magnum, Perdita Weeks is Juliet Higgins, Zachary Knighton stars as Orville ‘Rick’ Wright, Stephen Hill is Theodore TC Calvin, Amy Hill is Kumu, and Tim Kang plays Det. Gordon Katsumoto.
Season 4 plot for those who are behind:
“Magnum has a mysterious new love interest, a detective named Lia Kaleo, who he attempts to keep secret from the team. Higgins returned to start helping Magnum with cases again, leaving Ethan behind after she learned from MI6 that she is in danger. She then received multiple life-threatening assignments from MI6, and despite her attempts to keep these missions a secret, Magnum eventually finds out about them. Higgins forfeits her ownership of Robin’s Nest due to MI6 fast-tracking her U.S. Citizenship. Meanwhile, T.C. decided to foster a teenager named Cade who works at Rick’s bar who does not have any guardians. Rick finds out that Suzy is pregnant, and she gives birth to a baby girl in the last episode of Season 4. Kaleo and Magnum and Higgins and Ethan break up, prompting Magnum and Higgins to confess their feelings for each other and share their first kiss.” Per NBC.
