MTV is celebrating Diem Brown this week and it’s bringing back so many memories!
Danielle Michelle “Diem” Brown was a Fresh Meat contestant drafted by Derrick Kosinski. She was a finalist on The Gauntlet III and Battle of the Exes. She also competed on Fresh Meat, The Duel, The Duel II, The Ruins, Rivals II, and Battle of the Exes II.
After a long, brave battle with cancer Diem Brown passed away in 2014.
Today MTV shared:
“Eight years ago today, we lost a powerhouse female who wore her heart on her sleeve and pushed through every obstacle that was in her path. Today and every day we remember, Diem Brown. ❤️ #DiemStrong”
Many cast mates and fans shared their condolences again:
Brown first battled ovarian cancer in 2003, at age 23, and suffered a recurrence in 2012. She was later diagnosed with colon cancer, a third hurdle that she told E! News was the “scariest build up towards my cancer journey.”
Brown founded the non-profit MedGift, a website that allows people to donate money to support others who are going through health-related hardships. Even from her hospital bed, she worked tirelessly to help spread the word that each and every person can make a difference in this fight.
Diem is still very loved and will never be forgotten!
