A star was born on October 18th in Martin, Tennessee and she goes by the name of Crystal Renee Hayslett!!
Crystal is a very experienced costume designer and overtime worked her way up to become a known actress. Popular Director Matthew Cherry gave Hayslett her first speaking role in his short film, “This Time” and she has always been connected to BET as she made appearances on BET’s “The Game” and “Stomp The Yard 2”.
Later down the road, Crystal worked as a costumer designer and personal stylist for Tyler Perry and Tyler seen so much talent in her that she just had to join one of his shows!
Crystal joined the hit Tyler Perry series “Sistas” where her character Fatima quickly became a fan-favorite.
The fan love and the relationship between Fatima and Zac (played by Devale Ellis) quickly earned her the gift of her own TV show “Zatima” now streaming on BET+!
So what’s next up for Crystal? She’s set to star in Praise This which is a music-competition feature comedy set in the world of youth choirs by Universal films coming to Peacock in 2023. Tina Gordon (Little) is directing, having penned the latest draft of the script, which was based off an original idea by The Story Company. Earlier drafts were written by Camilla Blackett (Little, New Girl) and Brandon Broussard, Hudson Obayuwana and Jana Savage—the trio otherwise known as Murder Ink. The film also stars Chloe Bailey, Quavo, Druski and Tristan Mack Wilds.
