CBS’s “The Equalizer” Laya Shares Perks Of Working With Queen Latifah and Lorraine

The Equalizer cbs cast

“The Equalizer” is finally back on our screen for Season 3 and that means we’re going to get a lot of content from the cast and that all starts right now.

‘The Equalizer’ Star Laya DeLeon Hayes recently sat down with BET and talked about what it is like to work with the legendary Queen Latifah and Lorraine Toussaint.

BET first shared:

“Hayes is a bright, rising starlet viewers need to pay close attention to, especially in this new season. Her character’s storyline expands after last season’s cliffhanger where we see Robyn (Queen Latifah) get kidnapped while trying to take down Mason Quinn (Chris Vance). This unfortunate turn of events leaves Aunt Vi (Lorraine Toussaint) and Delilah on the hunt searching for Robyn alongside Robyn’s crime solving partners, Mel Bayani (Liza Lapira) and Harry Keshegian (Adam Goldberg).”

BET then asked:

“Working with Lorraine Toussaint and Queen Latifah is a great accomplishment early in your career. What have you learned from sharing the screen with Lorraine and Latifah?”

She responded:

“It’s like watching a master class when I’m on set with them. They are such veterans in this industry and blazed the trail for young artists like myself. I’m fortunate to work with them and now bond with them — they’re like my second family, and I love them a lot. The biggest thing I learned from both is defending your character. If you believe something fits your character and is suitable for your character, then defend it. Also, they emphasize speaking up and standing up for yourself. They have so much experience and are boss ladies — they call the shots.”

We love this!

Catch all three in the new episode of The Equalizer Season 3 airing on October 9th.
