ABC’s “The Rookie” Star Nathan Fillion just booked a brand new movie and we’re so happy for him!!
Nathan was just cast in “Superman: Legacy” which is set to begin filming in 2024.
The movie that will mark the live-action rebirth of the DC Universe recently added three new actors to its cast, each of them playing a superhero with a long history in the comic books. Isabela Merced will play Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi will be Mister Terrific and “The Rookie” Star Nathan Fillion will portray a Green Lantern.
James Gunn, who wrote and will direct the 2025 movie, has already cast David Corenswet (The Politician) as Clark Kent and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. When it starts shooting in January 2024, it will set the course for the new DCU that the Guardians of the Galaxy filmmaker is building in collaboration with fellow chair and CEO of DC Studios Peter Safran.
So will this hurt the upcoming 6th season of “The Rookie”?
Superman: Legacy is due to begin filming in January 2024. The Rookie, meanwhile, best case scenario — in a world where the WGA and AMPTP resume talks soon and somehow reach a deal by the end of July might start up production on Season 6 in, say, early October. But again, that is a highly optimistic timetable, seeing as there have been zeronegotiations on the WGA/AMPTP front since that strike began. Per TVLINE

The Rookie stars Nathan Fillion, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Melissa O’Neil, Eric Winter, Mekia Cox, Shawn Ashmore, and Tru Valentino. Lisseth Chavez recurs. John Nolan (Fillion) is a middle-aged divorced man from Pennsylvania who owns a construction company. He decides to give up his old life to pursue a new career as a police officer in the Los Angeles Police Department. He graduates from the Police Academy, is the oldest rookie on the force, and eventually becomes a training officer. He works with Sergeant Wade Grey (Jones), Detective Angela Lopez (Diaz), training officers Nyla Harper (Cox) and Tim Bradford (Winter), fellow rookie Lucy Chen (O’Neil), and the station’s newest rookie, Aaron Thorsen (Valentino).
