“Magnum PI” Stars Jay And Perdita Admits To Having Real Life Chemistry

Magnum pi Jay Perdita

NBC’s “Magnum PI” is finally back for a 5th season and fans are in love with Jay Hernandez and Perdita Weeks characters Magnum and Juliet!

Their chemistry is very much real as Jay Hernandez and Perdita Weeks admitted that they banter with each other the same way as their characters in real life as well.

“Honestly, I feel like [the writers] just sit around the set and listen to us bicker at each other, because we’re constantly arguing about something,” Hernandez shared in an interview with Weeks. “She thinks she’s always right, and I know I’m always right, and so that’s the dynamic.”

We love that the two are able to enjoy each other’s company while filming such relatable scenes.

The public is literally in love with this on screen couple and we’re 100% sure that this is a huge reason why the fans went so hard for another season! It worked. One of the biggest ships to ever grace our TV screens.

Series Plot:

“Magnum P.I.” is a modern take on the classic series centering on Thomas Magnum, a decorated former Navy SEAL who, upon returning home from Afghanistan, repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator. A charming rogue, an American hero and a die-hard Detroit Tigers fan, Magnum lives in a guest cottage on Robin’s Nest, the luxurious estate where he works as a security consultant to supplement his P.I. business. The “majordomo” of the property is Juliet Higgins, a beautiful and commanding disavowed MI6 agent whose second job is to keep Magnum in line, with the help of her two Dobermans. When Magnum needs backup on a job, he turns to his trusted buddies and fellow POW survivors Theodore “TC” Calvin, a former Marine chopper pilot who runs Island Hoppers, a helicopter tour business, and Orville “Rick” Wright, a former Marine door gunner-turned-impresario of Oahu’s coolest nightclub and the most connected man on the island. With keys to a vintage Ferrari in one hand, aviator sunglasses in the other and an Old Düsseldorf long neck chilling in the fridge, Thomas Magnum is back on the case!”

The cast includes Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephen Hill, Amy Hill and Tim Kang. Eric Guggenheim, Barbie Kligman, John Davis, Justin Lin, John Fox, David Wolkove and Gene Hong executive produce. CBS Studios produces in association with Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
