NBC’s “Magnum PI” Season 5 is just weeks away from debuting on our screens and we cannot wait to see what this season has in store for us!
A very trustworthy publication recently shared what fans can expect for one of the characters in the upcoming season.
Katsumoto is a Honolulu PD officer in Honolulu, Hawaii, he has both the confidence and the will of someone who’s had to fight every step of the way. He spent two years working undercover.
A writer over at TVLINE was asked “Hello, Matt! Can you give us something about Katsumoto’s storyline this season on Magnum P.I.? We know there’s a new detective in town (played by Michael Rady), but we absolutely need our favorite detective back! –Fran
The publication shared:
“Rest assured, Tim Kang “has got some reallyfun stuff this season,” Perdita Weeks shared when I delivered your Q. “He’s about to shoot a really fun one where he goes undercover to help us.” Additionally, Jay Hernandez said that Kang has “really meaty, family stuff” in the episode Hernandez just directed — and it includes a trip off the island that gets the sidelined cop out of his stuffy suit and into… something very different.”
We cannot wait!
The fifth season of Magnum P.I. premieres Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 9/8c in an exciting NBC two hour broadcast return.
Magnum PI stars Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephen Hill, Tim Kang, and Amy Hill. Recurring performers include Lance Kim, Chantal Thuy, and Martin Martinez. This reboot of the 1980s series follows Thomas Magnum (Hernandez), a decorated former Navy SEAL who repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator. He lives in a guest cottage on Robin’s Nest, the luxurious estate where he works as a security consultant to supplement his P.I. business. The “majordomo” of the property is Juliet Higgins (Weeks), a beautiful and commanding disavowed MI:6 agent who keeps Magnum in line. When Magnum needs back-up on a job, he turns to his trusted buddies and fellow POW survivors, chopper pilot Theodore “TC” Calvin (Hill) and Orville “Rick” Wright (Knighton), a former Marine door-gunner who now runs a nightclub. Magnum frequently has run-ins with police detective Gordon Katsumoto (Kang) and the two are more alike than either cares to admit. The unofficial “House Mom” and cultural curator of Robin’s Nest, Teuila “Kumu” Tuileta (Hill) is also one of Magnum’s biggest fans.
