“Heartstopper” Wins Big At The 2023 Golden Tomato Awards

Heartstopper

Netflix’s “Heartstopper” is undoubtedly one of the biggest shows to debut in 2022 and that’s evident as the show quickly became an Emmy winning series!

The show has won tons of awards and entering 2023, they’re still winning.

Rotten Tomatoes has announced the winners of it’s annual Golden Tomato Awards.

The award recognizes some of the biggest Hollywood hits,

Rotten Tomatoes shared:

“Television had a monumental year in 2022, with lots of fresh and exciting new faces joining all the usual suspects at the top of the heap. We saw the beginning of Cassian Andor’s story, rooted for Ms. Marvel to find her way, and bid a bittersweet farewell to Saul Goodman. All of the shows listed here were compelling enough to wow a majority of the critics, but it was the beginning of the end of House Targaryen that swooped in like a dragon to take home the Golden Tomato for Best TV Series of 2022.

The order reflects Tomatometer scores (as of December 31, 2022) after adjustment from our ranking formula, which compensates for variation in the number of reviews when comparing movies or TV shows.”

“Heartstopper” took home the award for “Best Romance Series”

Huge congratulations to the cast and crew. Great way to start 2023!

Heartstopper tells the story of Nick and Charlie, two British teens at an all-boys grammar school. Charlie, a high-strung, openly gay overthinker, and Nick, a cheerful, soft-hearted rugby player, one day are made to sit together. They quickly become friends, and soon Charlie is falling hard for Nick, even though he doesn’t think he has a chance. But love works in surprising ways, and Nick is more interested in Charlie than either of them realized. Heartstopper is about love, friendship, loyalty and mental illness. It encompasses all the small stories of Nick and Charlie’s lives that together make up something larger.

The television series is exec produced by Lyn and See-Saw’s Patrick Walters, Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Iain Canning and Emile Sherman with Zorana Piggott (Fanny Lye Deliver’d) as producer.
