“Heartstopper” Fans Share The Most Underrated Moments

Heartstopper season 2

Netflix’s “Heartstopper” was undoubtedly one of the biggest shows to debut this year and that’s a fact considering the show was given a 2 season order after the success of the first!

Netflix doesn’t usually give out renewals so to get two at once is the biggest accomplishment ever!

Another accomplishment the show earned was Emmy’s! “Heartstopper” is officially an Emmy winning series and we’re so proud.

Season 2 is on the way but until then fans are sharing what they think are the most underrated moments of the series.

Here’s some of our favorite responses:

“Nick challenging Charlie to a race up the stairs. Nick wanted to get Charlie away from the crowds, but also gave him an opportunity to do something he excels at and he knows Charlie will beat him at. It’s such a sweet moment to let Charlie shine.

And Charlie tells Nick he might be bisexual. This is only in the comics; the Netflix series cut it. Nick’s face is such a moment of shock, confusion and lightbulb.” – fortyfivepointseven

“When Charlie does that little happy dance after Nick asks him out on a date!!! It’s so sweet, I can’t believe people don’t talk about it more.” – nonsenicalramblings

“In the show, the friend group’s slumber party at Charlie’s at the beginning of ep 5 is just very sweet and endearing to me?” – broadcast the boom

“One of my favorite little moments is after Nick hugs Charlie in the hallway and Tori pops out of nowhere with the “I don’t think he’s straight”… just because it’s the first real validation that Charlie gets that he isn’t crazy thinking Nick might be crushing on him. I always imagine that moment helped greatly in giving him the confidence to push ahead at Harry’s party when Nick gave him an opening.

I also love in the TV show when Charlie is eating fish & chips with Nick at the beach. Subtle indicator of just how comfortable and happy he is when he’s with Nick” – ehwhateverdawg

“I’m not sure if this really counts as underappreciated, but one of my favourite lines in the show is Isaac’s “Ginormous heterosexual” partly because I haven’t heard anyone say ginormous in decades. I found it weirdly heartwarming that somewhere out there people are still describing things as ginormous” – pollyfossil

“In the comic when Darcy asks Nick how long he’s spoke French for and he says ‘er my whole life’ or something and also darcy talking about fainting by a swimming pool wearing a beanie and Tara’s deadpan replies . I also think a lot of issacs facial expressions are great such as nodding in an ‘ok ok’ kinda way when Charlie is talking about the possibility of nick not being straight My fave though which I don’t hear talked about much is Charlie pining for nick at sports day holding on to the wire fence – ah the longing ! I read a really good fan fic about him being like a wife in the First World War staring out of the window” – professional_art

“love all of the hand closeups/reaction shots in the show.

My favorite being Nick and Charlie’s hand holding under the art room lunch table while talking in ep 4, and the choreography that fits their feelings/concerns I’m the moment.

Followed later in the episode with Charlie slowly leaning into Nick as the St John’s rugby team takes the field with the “Sorry…nervous” line” fst_gemstar

“when tao is arguing in the group chat with charlie and elle about charlie missing movie night for harry’s birthday party and isaac just checks his phone, sees the texts and rolls his eyes and goes back to reading” – rach1e

Awww we loved these. What are some of your favorites?

Heartstopper tells the story of Nick and Charlie, two British teens at an all-boys grammar school. Charlie, a high-strung, openly gay overthinker, and Nick, a cheerful, soft-hearted rugby player, one day are made to sit together. They quickly become friends, and soon Charlie is falling hard for Nick, even though he doesn’t think he has a chance. But love works in surprising ways, and Nick is more interested in Charlie than either of them realized. Heartstopper is about love, friendship, loyalty and mental illness. It encompasses all the small stories of Nick and Charlie’s lives that together make up something larger.
