ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” Season 2 Debuts To Stable Ratings

Abc Abbott elementary season 2

ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” is proving to be a hit as the series remained stable for it’s season 2 premiere compared to the season one premiere episode!

The premiere received 2.769M views and a .50 demo.

This is only down a bit from season one premiere of 2.876M views and a .63 demo.

Congratulations to the cast and crew on a successful start to an amazing season.

Abbott Elementary stars series creator Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, Chris Perfetti, Lisa Ann Walter, and Sheryl Lee Ralph. The story follows a group of dedicated, passionate teachers (as well as a slightly tone-deaf principal) as they navigate the Philadelphia public school system. Despite the odds stacked against them, they are determined to help their students succeed in life, and though these incredible public servants may be outnumbered and underfunded, they love what they do — even if they don’t love the school district’s less-than-stellar attitude toward educating children.

Abbott Elementary recently set records at the 2022 Emmy Awards. The show won Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series. Quinta Brunson became the first Black woman to receive three Emmy nominations for a comedy in the same year, the youngest Black woman to receive a nomination for the comedy acting category, and the second Black woman to win an Emmy for Best Writing in a Comedy.

Sheryl Lee Ralph won an Emmy for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series. In doing so, Ralph became the second Black woman in history to win in that category behind Jackée Harry’s 1987 win for 227.
