Queen Elizabeth II has died at the age of 96, Per Variety.
The Queen died at Balmoral, her palace in the Scottish Highlands, which was purchased by her great-great-grandfather Prince Albert for Queen Victoria in 1852. She was surrounded by her children and grand-children.
Prince Charles, her eldest son, succeeds her.
Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation took place on June 2, 1953, in Westminster Abbey. It was the first to ever be televised and was viewed by 27 million people in the UK and millions more around the world.
