Kit Connor is a worldwide sensation right now thanks to his amazing role in “Heartstopper”!

Premise; Heartstopper tells the story of two British teens at a British secondary school Charlie, a high-strung, openly gay overthinker, and Nick Nelson, a cheerful, soft-hearted rugby player who are one day are made to sit together.

The pair quickly become friends, and soon Charlie is falling for Nick, even though he doesn’t think he has a chance and dismisses it as ‘pining after a straight boy he can’t ever have’. But over the series, romance does blossom, and Nick and Charlie discover there’s a strong community of allies and friends around them, while also learning that there’s no ‘right way’ to come out.”

Because of the role Kit portrays in Heartstopper there’s been curiosity around his sexuality.

In an interview with Hunger, He nods pensively when they mention a particular tweet where he vented at anonymous fans guessing at it.

He shared: “That tweet I posted pressed the importance of respecting people’s own journeys and I think it highlights the risks of outing someone and making someone feel uncomfortable,” he says. “For one thing, I am not a big believer in labels. I believe that they are extremely helpful for some people in terms of self-understanding and self-realisation, but I prefer not to think too much about labels. I don’t feel like I have to tell the world about my sexuality. I completely understand that many fans want queer representation to be authentic and they want to know whether it is authentic, but at the same time you shouldn’t make someone feel uncomfortable to the point where they have to tell a stranger about their sexuality.”
