If you didn’t hear the news already,
Love Island USA is now airing on Peacock and USA Network because CBS views didn’t align with the show!
Peacock’s is going for a revamped American version that will be similar in tone to the British franchise, with Scottish comedian, Iain Stirling reprising his role from Love Island UK and narrating the US edition.
Modern Family star Sarah Hyland will take over as host.
So what’s wrong with Love Island USA Season 4?
After the first episode, we noticed that the show isn’t live on Peacock. The experience of fans live tweeting lacks this season which is bad because usually Twitter hypes shows like this up the most.
If you go to the LoveIslandUSA handle on Twitter, there’s very little engagement on the tweets compared to last season and the UK season for sure. You would expect a show like this to be a big hit on social media and especially by Season 4 but the US production team of Love Island just isn’t getting it.
The show was renewed for an early Season 5 but for now I wouldn’t be surprised if they canceled that season and shopped the season to another streaming platform. We think Paramount Plus would’ve been a better move considering the show gave fans extras on there last season.
The host change was kind of unnecessary, fans enjoyed the last host but we figure it has everything to do with the platform switch from CBS to Peacock.
Love Island USA is trying their best to mimic the success of Love Island UK and 4 seasons in, it feels like they’re moving backwards.
We’re not sold on the season yet but hoping it gets better. It is early days and maybe things will get interesting. What’s your thoughts on the season so far? Let us know.
